Custom External Equipment Configurations
Following the v2.2 release, our F28 Professional now supports custom equipment configurations for third-party liveries! Custom equipment configurations can be created by livery artists and are intended to be distributed with the livery files. This allows users to simply drag and drop the livery package, as well as the equipment configuration file, into the necessary folders, and provides livery creators with an extra level of customisation, allowing each creation to reach an even greater level of accuracy.
Instructions for how livery artists can create a custom external equipment configuration .ini file for your liveries are listed below:
1. Download the F28_livery_configuration_template.ini file from the following link:
2. Open the file in a text editor (e.g. Notepad or Notepad++).
3. On line 1, replace the [F28 Livery Configuration Template] text with the name of the livery. We would recommend using the livery’s “Title=” entry in the aircraft.cfg, although any text is acceptable.
4. On lines 2-5, input “0” or “1” after the “=” symbol on each line to enable/disable each piece of equipment. For example, “hasHF=0” will disable the HF antennas from the exterior of the aircraft. “hasHF=1” will enable them.
5. Save the .ini file with a file name that exactly matches the text from the livery’s Title= entry in the aircraft.cfg. IMPORTANT! The file name of the .ini file must exactly matching the Title= line in the liveries aircraft.cfg file. If these fields do not exactly match, the equipment configuration will load in a default state.
6. The file is now ready to be distributed with your created livery.
Instructions for how the livery equipment configuration .ini file can be installed are listed below:
1. Download a livery package and its corresponding livery equipment configuration .ini file from your preferred third-party distributor.
2. Drag and drop the livery package into your Community folder.
3. Drag and drop the livery equipment configuration .ini file into the aircraft’s ‘work’ folder. The location of this folder varies depending on the version of MSFS used:
MSFS 2020 – Microsoft Store: C:\Users\**USERNAME**\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft. FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\justflight-aircraft-f28\work\LiveryConfigs
MSFS 2020 – Steam: C:\Users\**USERNAME**\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\justflight-aircraft-f28\work\LiveryConfigs
MSFS 2024 – Microsoft Store: C:\Users\**USERNAME**\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft. Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\WASM\MSFS2024\justflight-aircraft-f28\work\LiveryConfigs
MSFS 2024 – Steam: C:\Users\**USERNAME**\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\WASM\MSFS2024\justflight-aircraft-f28\work\LiveryConfigs
4. Launch the simulator and load a flight in the newly installed livery. The livery will have the equipment configuration as set by the livery creator.
