A ‘lyre bird’ warning sound will be triggered by one of the following:

- One or more red captions on the Central Warning Panel (CWP) are illuminated. Refer to the table on pages 86 and 87 of the manual to identify the cause of the CWP caption.

- The CWP test switch is set to the TEST 2 position


If there are no captions on the CWP, the warning sound is likely to be the ‘600Hz interrupted tone’ which is triggered by one of the following:

- A reverse thrust re-ingestion warning – this will occur if reverse thrust is selected with the aircraft’s speed is below 60kt

- The CWP test switch is set to the TEST 1 position


Either warning sound can be muted by clicking on one of the two attention getters that are located on the coaming/glare-shield.
